Black Women's Health Imperative Welcomes New Communications Director

Rae OglesbyThe Black Women’s Health Imperative is pleased to announce the hire of  Rae Oglesby as its new director of communications. Oglesby will create and guide the strategy for all printed, electronic and verbal communications to consistently articulate the mission and value proposition of the Imperative.

Oglesby comes to the Imperative from United Way of Greater Atlanta, where she grew engagement by as much as 1,266 percent across digital communications channels and introduced a new revenue stream through a unique video marketing campaign.

Prior to her career as a nonprofit professional, she worked as a news producer and writer for CNN, WSB-TV in Atlanta and WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina.

“I am excited to join the Imperative and contribute to the critical work it is doing to improve — and save — the lives of Black women and girls, and as a result, their families and communities,” said Oglesby.

“Rae is a triple threat. She has proven experience in communications, marketing and public relations, and will help us take the Imperative to the next level,” said Linda Goler Blount, president and CEO of the Black Women's Health Imperative.

Oglesby holds a degree in journalism from of Florida A&M University and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
