Rae Oglesby, MBA

Director, Marketing & Communications (Alias: The Hope Dealer)

You know that kid in school who always carried around a ton of books and was the first in line for the book fair? Yeah, that was Rae. Reading is how she developed a love for writing and storytelling. That love, along with a passion to keep people informed, led her to a career in journalism. She worked for ten years as a producer and writer at CNN, and several other trusted names in news, before pivoting to a career in nonprofit marketing and communications.

Now she uses her journalism-honed multimedia storytelling skills as the Black Women's Health Imperative's director of marketing and communications. Before joining the Imperative in November 2015, she worked at United Way of Greater Atlanta where she grew engagement by as much as 1,266 percent across digital communications channels and introduced a new revenue stream through a unique video marketing campaign. She also used innovative digital tools to double attendance at two fundraising events.

Rae loves to spend her time volunteering and served on the Boards of the Atlanta chapter of New Leaders Council, the Ivy Prep Foundation and Ladies of Favor mentoring program.

A proud Georgia native, Rae attended Florida A&M University where she graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. She also holds an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
